In addition to being an addictively entertaining game, Appetite is also designed to raise awareness about healthy eating through an understanding of how energy values of food and drinks work.
The work on Appetite started at the Ubisoft Blue Byte Game Jam when I pitched it on the topic of "health".
I am still continuing to work on this project as a hobby in my free time together with a colleague. I am responsible for all aspects of the project save for programming. Among my tasks are:
• Designing and documenting all gameplay features,
• Creating the user interface,
• Balancing the in-game economy based on realistic energy values of food and drink cards.
